Crystal, our dedicated Practice Manager, brings nearly two decades of experience in veterinary medicine to Small Miracles Animal Hospital. Growing up in Wadsworth, Ohio, where she now lives with her husband, daughter, and three rescue dogs, Crystal has always had a passion for animals.
Her journey in veterinary care began in 2004 as a kennel assistant, and through years of hands-on experience, dedication, and continuous learning, she has become a pivotal leader in our practice.
Working with Dr. Arnold at their previous clinic, Crystal shared a vision for a veterinary practice where patient care and client relationships took priority. When Dr. Arnold asked her to join Small Miracles, Crystal embraced the opportunity, knowing they could build a practice focused on gentle, fear-free care grounded in integrity.
Now, as Practice Manager, Crystal oversees daily operations, from staffing to finances and patient care. She also loves staying involved on the floor, connecting with patients and their families directly—a part of the job she finds deeply rewarding.
Outside of work, Crystal spends time with her family and their rescue dogs. In addition to her Fear Free and Animal CPR certifications, she’s working toward her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) licenses.
Here, Crystal shares her journey, her passion for animal care, and her insights on what makes her role so fulfilling.
Q: What inspired you to become a vet tech?
A: Growing up with animals was an important part of my childhood. Deciding to become a vet tech and helping provide excellent care for animals seemed like a way I could give back the love and care they provided for me.
Q: What's the best piece of advice you've ever received about working with animals?
A: Becoming fear-free and learning that positive reinforcement provides a much better experience for our patients.
Q: What's your favorite part of your job and why?
A: Working with the animals and getting to know the clients on a personal level. Building a relationship with our clients and patients is important to me.
Q: Do you have any pets of your own? Tell us a fun fact about them!
A: Yes, I have three dogs. Our dog Leaf has a TikTok page and loves providing fun stories for everyone to see.
Q: If you weren’t working in veterinary care, what would you be doing?
A: I would have become an animal control officer because ever since I was little, I have always known I wanted to do something to help animals.
With her deep knowledge, warm personality, and commitment to patient care, Crystal is an invaluable part of our team at Small Miracles Animal Hospital. Whether she’s leading the practice, assisting in surgery, or connecting with clients, she brings a passion for animals and a dedication to creating a safe, welcoming environment for all our patients.
